Here my big presets pack for the Helix 2.01 firmware - 175 presets covering many genres (pop, rock, fusion, metal...). This package contains both individual files and two setlists for quicker loading, 25 user IRs and an .xls file, which list all presets and gives some details on them (check it here : http://pages.intnet.mu/fremen/Misc/Femen_Helix_presets.xls ). Soon, I'll upload a proper demo, but I've already uploaded a few teasers here :
Now, some notes :
Presets
The general volume of my presets is intended to be on par with the stock presets, or a little quieter. I wanted to avoid the risks of digital clipping, which I hear on many presets I downloaded from Custom Tone.
My presets are first and foremost a very big collection of amp/cab tones, effects are a bonus. There's also a few, like the ambiant ones, U2 or Pink Floyd presets etc in which the effects settings are equally important. Like my presets for Axe-Fx and AmpliFire, they are intended to cover various genres, from classic rock to metal through pop and fusion. Some of them uses snapshots, again, check the .xls file for details.
I like my cleans without any hair, and quite compressed. Compressor is an important element in my "Cln xxx" presets. It can of course be removed ; on many presets, the sound will then be a little dirtier, on the edge of breakup.
Also included is a collection of metal presets meant to be used for recording, so they're brighter than what I normally use. I used a DI track from one metal song I recorded to tweak them. However they probably have a little more bass than needed but I like that for playing with them. In a mix, I'll cut the lows some more.
IRs
You need to put the user IRs in the right places - "081 LX TDR Ultraclean.wav" goes to user spot 081, etc.
My presets have been tweaked with these IRs, they won't sound like intended if you don't load them. All are custom creations made with various free sources, or no source at all, and various techniques like tone matching.
Of course, you can try to swap them with your favorite third party cabs, this will probably work if you choose similar cabs (like, a V30 4x12 IR instead of my HG (high gain) cabs, G12M and the like instead of my Marshall cabs etc… Experiment !)
To make things simpler for most Helix users, I didn't put my user IRs at the beginning of the cab bank, but from 074 to 098.
Note : the acoustic sim IRs are way quieter than the others, it's their nature, and I boosted the level from the IR block accordingly. Be careful if you try other IRs with the Acoustic Sim presets, lower the IR block volume first !
Similarly, the volume of the IR block in the "Cln" presets is at -12 instead of -18 because for some amps, with the very low gain settings, the channel volume at 10 wasn't enough to compensate.

ReplyDeleteJust downloaded the whole pack. Worth every penny. Good work brother.
ReplyDeleteImporting set list doesn't seem to work or I can't make it work. Any tips?
Individual effects works. importing 175 times will be a while.....
Thanks.
just got your pack. they sound great. i have an ibanez rg with 2 humbuckers 1 single coil in the middle. what is the best patch to get a funky tone. somethin clean ?
ReplyDeleteBought the pack and love it! So if I understand this correctly...I load the IR's in 74-98 and I load the presets into 1-175 and they will match up? or does it matter where the presets are loaded?
ReplyDeleteAs long as the IRs are at the correct spot, it doesn't matter where you store the presets
DeleteJust bought the pack. I'm loving the tones you designed!! Worth the $50 and then some. This is awesome brotha!! Thanks for your hard work!! So far all the cleans and blues tones I'm playing on my Eric Johnson Strat< and the metal and other sounds I'm using my Jackson and Ibanez. SICK!! Thanks again< rock on!!
ReplyDeleteHi,congratulation for work. Is possible buy only one preset?
ReplyDeleteHello Dani, please send me an email for that
DeleteI purchased this package . I would like to know how do I set the global EQ . Thanks so much
ReplyDeleteHello, mine is flat, I don't use it, but it depends on your monitors and acoustic environment...
Deleteok by pass eq :)
ReplyDeleteAre there acoustic presets for piezo equipped guitars? If so, would I be able to use these with my JT Variax as well?
ReplyDeleteNo, however I made an IR to work with my Variax acoustic sound, it's in the Acoustic simulation pack
DeleteIs this IR in the 175 bundleI just bought? If not, can I purchase that IR separately?
ReplyDeleteThe IRs I use are all in the bundle

ReplyDeletegreat work, thanks so much!
ReplyDeletePardon my ignorance, what does "081 LX TDR Ultraclean.wav" goes to user spot 081, etc." exactly mean? My entire user2 library and on are empty. so if i imported your entire bundle, what would happen? Maybe a quick video will help clarify for all who are new to this.

DeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteI have not had my Helix for a long time and bought your "big Pack Bundle" and do not know much in IR areas ..
I have impoteret your pre sets. So far so good
But cabs folder. Where should they be laid?
I look forward to your answer :-)
Regards Martin
Hello Martin, you need to load the IRs on your Helix like this – putting each one at the correct place is essential :

Just got it. Awesome job, and the price really is for everyone... Big THANKS! Looking forward for a few patches around v2.11, maybe an update to bundle sometime :) Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletek, I just bought your patches. I have had the Helix for about 3 days now and I just realized that unlike the Presets, the IR section does not have multiple folders....now I'm worried, because I had purchased the Glen Delaunne presets and had assigned the corresponding IRs and now I don't have additional IR folders to place your IRs in. Am I missing something? Please enlighten me because it would have been (I think) ideal to have equal IR blank files to Preset files.
ReplyDeleteThanks in advance :)
Did you watch this ?

My IRs placement shouldn't conflict with those of Glenn

ReplyDeleteDoes your preset bundle work with the latest firmware?
ReplyDeleteHi Thibault. I was wondering if you have a list of which IR's match which preset. I already have the spaces you recommend occupied and I am really excited to try you patches but don't know what IR goes with what preset? plz help a total newbie!!
ReplyDeletewhat are on the patches, any srv, journey , jimi?
ReplyDeleteHello, the video gives a god indication on what's inside... No, no presets specifically tailored for those but I'm sure some will match well
DeleteSalut T
ReplyDeleteWill purchasing the big pack mean I can get updates on your new sounds?
Or should I wait until the next release?
thanks Jon
Hello, my next release will be distinct than this one, and not an upgrade to this one
Deleteregards,
Thibault
Thanks a lot , I also using this guitar pack
ReplyDeletewww.lucidsamples.com
what is your opinion about it?
Bonjour Thibault,
DeleteHello. Noob alert! Does this pack work with helix native plugin?
ReplyDeleteYes it does. Check my website, I don't use that blog anymore :
