Here too, each of these new presets uses 5 scenes :
scene 1 clean
scene 2 edge of breakup
scene 3 crunch
scene 4 rhythm
scene 5 lead
They all use stock cabs, although I will add a custom cabs version too soon, as a bonus
This pack is for Axe-Fx II MK I/II/XL/XL+ (firmware Quantum 3.03 and above) AND the AX8 (firmware 3.51 and above) ; each machine has its own bank. It also for FRFR systems of course.Updates, if necessary, will be available for six months from release date.
Of course, you can tweak them as you like, specially by trying different cabs. Here I use 50 different amp models (there's two presets with one amp model, the Fender 5F8 Tweed) but much less cabs. Finding cabs which sounds as good with clean and high gain sounds is challenging ! It was also a challenge to achieve a clean sound with some of the amp models, like the Recto or MKIIC++...
Some more notes :
I used different amp models than with my previous 5 scenes presets : Fender (around 14), Mesa (6), Marshall (4), boutique amps (Carol-Ann, Bludojai, Carr, Two Rock, Cameron, Matchless, Dumble...), Cornford, Bogner, CAE+, Fryette, Hiwatt, and some FAS models...
The compressor, which is used on the first two scenes, can be tweaked for a less "squashy" clean sound. With some amp models, the first scene may then sound a little dirtier.
AX8 users : there's a bug with the Atomica preset, as this amp model doesn't react well with controllers attached to its gain. You may hear a "ticking" sound. I kept the preset in the pack anyway.
All the presets were made using and Ibanez RG with dual humbuckers and double checked with a Fender Stratocaster. Usually I use humbuckers for scenes 4 & 5, intermediary positions or neck single coil for scenes 1 - 2 - 3.
There's a bonus preset for Axe-Fx users (it's not possible to port it on the AX8, which doesn't have a second pitch block) : "Shine on 5 scenes", which you can see in action here :
NOTE : this pack has been replaced with an updated version for firmware Quantum 7.02 and above, with 90 presets. It's available on my new website here :
I will be sending you a payment. I wish I had a full blown Axe so I could use the bonus "Shine On" preset - that one Sounds great!

ReplyDeleteAny preset that will suit bluesy rock? Bernard Allison, Srv, Kws, Mayer, Clapton
ReplyDeleteOr is it more classic rock/hard rock?
DeleteAre these built for use with a real cab/amp or with an FRFR? I assume the latter but can you confirm please?
ReplyDeleteHello, it's for FRFR

Why this parallel signal chain of the reverb/delay? I do have problems (or get it later) when trying to increase the effect volume.. Seems as if it cannot get that high ex high delay. Not sure why this is better (in parallel).. Just bought the package though :-) No it says stock cabs - so all cabs are from the Axe library ??
ReplyDeletewhy ? because constant dry volume... Increase "Ingain" if you want more delay, if that's not enough then "Level" but the effect level will be higher than direct level
DeleteHi T
ReplyDeleteJustdownloaded Axe Fx2 5 scenes and put them in the Axebut none of them is named like in the demo. Also they sound dark for the most of them. The sys file I put into Axe is:5 Scenes package (MKI).syx
What can be wrong? I'm playing through Bose headset with a Masterbuilt Fender so that sahould be ok.
The demo is of the 5 scenes presets that are in my full pack, to present the concept. Here's what I write above :
Delete« It took me almost two weeks to finalize this new pack : 51 "5 scenes" presets, like the ones already present in my previous packs, but with different amp models. If you don't know what my 5 scenes presets are, check these videos (made with older firmwares) : »
VIDEO DEMO
« Here too, each of these new presets uses 5 scenes »
So, this pack is made of new presets (different amp models) than those presented in the video.
Regarding the sound of the presets, honestly I can't know what's wrong, if ever something is wrong… I don't play through headsets, I hate that. As I wrote above, my presets are for FRFR systems (full range flat response monitors, like studio monitors, amps like the CLR, of FOH systems)
How is the BOSE sounding with untweaked stock presets (not presets you made yourself) ? If the headset in naturally dark, stock presets should be sounding dark too, and you may have compenstaed for the lack of high end in your own presets by boosting the highs. But then those presets would be way too bright on FRFR systems… You only play on headphones, no studio monitors ?
Yeah I forgot to mention.. Yes I use the active Atomic CLR's and never had this darker sound when downloading presets. The bose, quitecomfort 15 Noiceless, always makes a damn good representation of sounds and also presets from the Axe. Even better representation than the CLR's but I know what you mean in relation to FRFR but these presets sounded dark that's why I reacted.
DeleteGuess I'll have to investigate more (Global EQ's or what ever).
I didn't receive any other report of them being too dark, so there may be another problem… Can you try to send the bank to your Axe again ? Or maybe you would like individual presets ?
DeleteBut still can you give me the best one to one from demo to the downloaded presets? I would like to compare the sound from the demo and the one I have. So which is the same in the demo compared to named presets?
ReplyDeleteNot sure I understand what you're asking there ?
DeleteJust give me the name of one preset in the demo that is similar with one from the download for compareing the sounds. (If possible)
DeletePlease contact me on my mail : thibderob at yahoo dot fr, and i'll send you some presets from the demo instead
DeleteHmm. I reset all global stuff in Axe, downloaded again and it sounds normal.. Don't know the reason for this..
ReplyDeleteIs this still active? I got no reply to my Mail.
ReplyDeleteBest regard,
Timon
